You will have access to high-tech laboratories, world-leading researchers, computer labs and some of the latest industry standard software.During the summer, you may be given the exciting opportunity of a micro-placement project. These placements are arranged in collaboration with our existing industrial partners and alumni contacts and aim to provide you with hands-on practical experience, working on appealing projects relevant to your MSc. Part-time: 2-6 years (typically 3 years)

Modules

The module will introduce and develop the concepts of Additive Manufacturing (AM) and demonstrate the different AM techniques available at Loughborough University. This course will teach the various processes in relation to the seven ASTM F42 standards in order to easily categorize the different processes and overcome issues with the technology classifications. The module will emphasise the strengths and weaknesses of the various technologies and highlight applications and case studies from the AM industry. The course will cover AM for use in production development, rapid tooling and Reverse Engineering with case examples from a range of industrial sectors.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have a Bachelors honours degree, typically a 2:2 or above. Ideally, you should have an undergraduate degree in an engineering or physical science.
