Course Summary

Our MSc Construction Project Management with Building Information Modelling (BIM) combines our heritage in teaching construction management with our world-leading research in building performance, simulation and information management.

This programme is tailored for construction professionals focusing on an increasingly important area for the industry. Digital technologies are revolutionising construction and such tools, platforms and underlying processes all fit within BIM.

This programme differs in module selection from our other construction programmes, uniquely adding elements of building modelling and simulation. The objective of the programme is to further enhance and develop project management expertise by complementing it with contemporary demands to integrate expertise and skills in BIM. You will take core modules in project management and BIM, and will be able to choose from a wide range of specialised optional modules in management and simulation. The modules are designed to deliver a high-quality educational experience that develops and sustains your knowledge, skills and aspirations for your future career within an advancing construction industry in the digital age.

We have recently invested £6 million in building expansion and development, which includes new dedicated study areas and computer resources. These IT facilities will allow you to use new technologies throughout your studies, making your skills highly desirable by employers.

Our School of Architecture, Building and Civil Engineering aspires to be the world’s leading integrated centre for built environment research and education. This uniquely holistic view of construction makes it best placed for developing graduates to meet the increasing demands of the sector.

Our School is one of four Royal Academy of Engineering Centres of Excellence in Sustainable Building Design, and one of the six most highly funded EPSRC-funded groups working on built environment topics. We are also a corporate affiliate member of the Association of Project Management.

The School hosts the Building and Industrial Services Pipework Academy (BISPA). It is a collaboration with global steel manufacturer Tata Steel and its Tubes business, and the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE).

Modules
