Course Summary

The MSc in Humanistic Psychotherapy is a five-year part-time training programme accredited by the UKCP. The course is rooted in the principles of Humanistic psychotherapy, a field that emerged in the 1950s as a reaction to classical psychoanalysis. Humanistic values emphasise the innate potential for growth within every individual, recognising that clients are experts in their own experiences. The course integrates theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and personal development, preparing students for careers as psychotherapists.

Throughout the training, students will explore Person-Centred, Gestalt, and Transactional Analysis approaches alongside theories of human development and research methodologies. The programme offers an optional MSc qualification in Humanistic Psychotherapy, awarded by Middlesex University, and a pathway to a Metanoia Clinical Diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling, which provides eligibility for BACP accreditation.
