Course Summary

The MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy offers a comprehensive exploration of psychotherapy as an intentional use of the therapeutic relationship. The course is grounded in psychodynamic theory and clinical practice, drawing on psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive-behavioural, and systemic therapies alongside transtheoretical concepts of change.

Emphasising the therapeutic alliance as a co-constructed endeavour, the programme highlights the importance of self-reflective practice, self-understanding, and attunement. It explores both verbal and non-verbal dimensions of communication, viewing psychotherapy as a 'communicating cure' at multiple levels. Students are encouraged to develop their integrative models by combining various theoretical approaches and considering broader contextual impacts on individual identity.

Upon successful completion, students will be awarded:

  • MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy
  • Metanoia Clinical Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy leading to UKCP Registration
