LLM Law (International Commercial Law)

This includes the World Trade Organisation and the law of international trade, and in areas such as international finance, intellectual property or international energy law. As part of Northumbria’s innovative and flexible LLM Law framework, the International Commercial Law specialism has been designed to meet the needs of legal practitioners within this field, as well as finance professionals who may benefit from a deeper contextual understanding. It is not necessary to have an undergraduate law qualification and there are no jurisdictional restrictions, so you will be part of a diverse and intellectually stimulating cohort. For students from countries that follow the Bologna Process and require two year of postgraduate study, it will be possible to study the LLM framework twice, choosing a different specialism each time. You will qualify for an alumni discount on the second year. Applicants should normally have: A minimum of a 2:2 honours degree in either law, a relevant social science based discipline, or a relevant non-law degree. Relevant professional qualifications or suitable work experience will also be considered.
