Managing people, budgets and processes wisely is both an art and a science. On this course, you’ll unlock your potential as a manager and leader, and gain the knowledge, skills and resilience to become an innovator and changemaker in the financial sector – both in the UK and internationally.
This course has been designed to be relevant to students from anywhere in the world, at any stage of their career, who want to find new ways to navigate challenges and improve their management skillset. You’ll graduate not only with a nuanced understanding of finance, but also a deep understanding of the different management roles and responsibilities.
You’ll gain an advanced understanding of different leadership styles and effective people management, as well as the principles underpinning general financial management via simulations and workshops – mastering the art of resolving conflict and managing change, while emphasising the application of skills in real-world situations. You’ll also gain strategies to inspire trust and personal growth – developing your own unique management style based on your individual qualities.
Alongside this, you’ll learn key functions, tools and techniques for financial managers – from overseeing budgets and cashflow to raising investments, managing risk and assessing the complex dynamics of global markets.
Working with academics, peers and influential industry guests, you’ll learn how to oversee finances and financial teams – strategically planning, managing resources, handling conflicting needs, finding practical solutions to real challenges and making decisions with greater efficiency and reduced friction.
In your final term, you’ll complete a business project or dissertation – applying your knowledge to a real business case. You'll graduate with the financial knowledge and transferable skills to manage teams and projects in a variety of organisational contexts, including private, public and non-profit. Our alumni hold positions in financial consulting, social enterprise and business development.
