COURSE OVERVIEW

Our MSc Computational Engineering with Industry course is only open to International students.

Gain two years' experience in the UK and the opportunity to work in collaboration with industry on a real-life challenge.

This new MSc is an extension of our MSc Computational Engineering and includes a second year allowing you to undertake either an industry placement or an industry-focused project with an industrial partner.

YOUR COMPUTATIONAL ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE

Over the course you will use mathematical modelling and computational methods to solve complex problems.

You will learn techniques that play an increasingly instrumental role in industry and understand how methodology can be applied to fields such as medicine and the life sciences.

Your studies will be based at the Zienkiewicz Centre for Computational Engineering, which has excellent computing facilities including a state-of-the-art multi-processor supercomputer, with virtual reality facilities and high-speed networking.

Modules

Introduction to advanced computational (numerical) methods including ordinary and partial differential equations at masters level. The course provides an understanding of fundamental methods that form the basis of common solution techniques used in many simulators and commercial packages with wide application in science and engineering.

Entry requirements

Usually the entry requirements for the MSc Computational Engineering with Industry course is a 2:1 honours degree (or above) in Engineering, Mathematics, or similar relevant science discipline. You will also need to have an overall mark of at least 55%, however performance in key modules will also be considered.
