Qualified English teachers are in high demand across the UK. PYPA has developed an innovative PGCE Secondary English program that will give confidence to those entering the teaching profession a better understanding of their subject and an understanding of how to teach it. This program will prepare you to make a positive contribution to the learning communities you join. PYPA's PGCE Secondary English program is complemented by regional, national and international research. You will learn how to make English meaningful, interesting and fun and also how to analyze your own and your pupils' development.
PYPA's rigorous and integrated PGCE program will challenge you both academically and professionally. The PGCE English program aims to develop a critical understanding of the nature of English and its place in the school curriculum. You will be encouraged to research and test your own approaches to English pedagogy to find those approaches that work best for you and the pupils you teach.
