Course info

Pave the way for a specialist career in neurophysiotherapy on this flexible, well-established Master’s degree. Exploring the clinical, academic and research components of evidence-based neurophysiotherapy practice, you will conduct your own research and develop your understanding about how to help patients with neurological conditions access the most effective treatments. This Physiotherapy Studies Neurophysiotherapy MSc gives you the chance to work alongside both UCL and external experts to extend your knowledge of the key practical and theoretical aspects of neurophysiotherapy. You will challenge the foundations of established, but often poorly justified, treatments, carry out your own research, and learn about new and emerging ways to treat patients. Choose from modules that reflect evidence-based practice in various neurological conditions, such as Neurophysiotherapy: Evidence for Rehabilitation and Practice and Motor Control in Life, Health and Disease. You will find highly specialised options which are rare to find elsewhere. Studying at a top university that is helping to shape new ideas in public health, you will also benefit from mentorship from recognised specialists in neurophysiotherapy. With modules planned largely in short blocks, you can fit this course easily around work – and focus on the areas that will be most beneficial for your career. By the end of your Master’s degree, you will be excellently placed to progress into advanced practice, leadership or academic roles. This degree is suitable for World Physiotherapy recognised qualified physiotherapists with more than 12 months of supervised work experience, beyond their internship, within the Neurophysiotherapy field. Also suitable for experienced practitioners who prefer not to undertake clinical placements for reasons including restrictions on study leave. This programme is also available on a modular (flexible) basis, with a duration of 5 calendar years.
