This is a Psychology conversion programme designed to give students a comprehensive understanding of the core areas of psychology as defined by the British Psychological Society (BPS). This course is accredited by the British Psychological Society, and upon successful completion confers Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership (GBC) of the BPS. This is a Psychology conversion programme designed to give students without a previous psychology degree a comprehensive understanding of the core areas of psychology. Students will gain knowledge of the distinctive methods, theories and insights of psychological science in the following modules: biological psychology, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, individual differences and social psychology, and will understand the links between these areas of learning. Students also study quantitative and qualitative research methods and statistics, and they undertake a research project (dissertation) under supervision of one or more of the wide range of expert psychologists in the Division of Psychology and Language Sciences at UCL. The programme is suitable for students from a variety of backgrounds who wish to gain the core knowledge and skills in psychology relevant to progressing to a research or applied career in psychology or to applying psychological knowledge and skills in another career or field.
