Course Summary

The Educational Leadership apprenticeship provides a distinctive, evidence-focused programme that builds on the National Professional Qualifications and develops capacity for leadership and expert practice in schools.

The knowledge and experience you will gain from the course will place you in an ideal position to inform future improvement and make a difference to the overall performance of your school. It will enhance your ability to lead school improvement by using research and evidence to develop, and in some cases, challenge current practices.

Key themes include: Making a difference through leadership; Improving teaching to improve learning; Using evidence to improve practice; Inclusion and developing the whole person; and School in the context of policy.

Sessions will be delivered in twilight sessions (5pm - 6:30pm) with some extended Saturday sessions (10am – 3pm).

Our Educational Leadership Level 7 Apprenticeship, aligned to the Senior Leader Apprenticeship Standard, will allow you to gain a PGDip in Educational Leadership funded by the Apprenticeship Levy. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship we offer you the opportunity to achieve a full Masters level qualification through completion of a 60 credit dissertation.

Employability

The apprenticeship consists of 15 months undertaking the University Academic Programme and 5 months undertaking the Apprenticeship End Point Assessment. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship we offer you the opportunity to achieve a full Masters level qualification through completion of a 60 credit dissertation. The cost of completing the Masters will be £4,000 which may be funded by the employer or individual, or a combination of both. Entry requirements

All applicants are required to: be currently working in a senior leadership role; have a National Professional Qualification (NPQ), equivalent professional experience, or equivalent M-level credits related to school improvement and educational leadership; hold a good first degree, diplomas or other relevant qualifications.
