Modules

This module will provide students with an understanding of modern advanced econometric procedures, with emphasis placed on interpreting econometric results and critically evaluating the techniques employed. It will start with a technical review of the classical linear model, examining the implications when the key assumptions are violated. This will be followed by a general survey of the main techniques in the applied literature. Both computer and econometric classes will support the lectures, providing examples of specific practical problems.

Entry requirements

A 2:1 bachelor’s Honours degree (or overseas equivalent) in Economics or a related discipline. You are expected to have received a good training in economics, to at least intermediate level, and to have taken at minimum: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Econometrics or Statistics, and Mathematics or a Quantitative module at bachelor’s level.
