Our MSc in Biomedical Engineering is focused on helping you gain the advanced knowledge, scientific and technical expertise, and research skills needed for a professional career in this diverse and rapidly developing field. This course addresses contemporary issues in biomedical engineering. This module enables you to bring together the knowledge and skills acquired from the taught MSc modules to investigate a selected topic through a critical literature review and analysis in a relevant engineering subject. The project is designed to enable you to demonstrate your capabilities to perform independent but guided research to solve practical problems with theoretical and analytical knowledge. The overall purpose of the module is to develop your understanding of the steps involved in planning and conducting a research project and in communicating the findings both orally and in writing.

Entry requirements

Normally, you should have at least a lower second class honours degree (2.2) in a relevant subject; for instance, a BSc (Hons) or BEng (Hons) in Engineering or Physics. If you have alternative equivalent qualifications and relevant work experience, then we’ll be happy to consider your application and may invite you for an interview or request a portfolio of work.
