The School of Education offers two routes for those wanting to pursue doctoral level study in education, the Education PhD and the Professional Doctorate in Education (EdD). Both doctoral routes aim to enable students to develop advanced research skills and to generate new knowledge:the Education PhD enables students to develop advanced research skills and build new knowledge with an emphasis on providing a pathway for those interested in a career in education research.for the Professional Doctorate in Education (EdD), a structured taught component is integral to the first stages of study and the emphasis is on the generation and application of advanced knowledge and skills pertinent to the issues within professional contexts.
