Our PGCE (Education and Training , taught at our partner colleges, is a nationally recognised qualification for teachers, trainers and tutors in the FE and Skills sector which includes FE colleges, training providers and sixth forms.
Teaching is an interesting and rewarding profession, one where you will use your enthusiasm and talents to really make a difference. This qualification will equip you to teach in the post 14 Further Education (FE) and Skills sector, which includes FE colleges, sixth forms, adult and community learning, the NHS, offender learning, the Police service and in private sector training organisations.
The PGCE (Education and Training) is a nationally recognised qualification for teachers, trainers and tutors in the FE and Skills sector and the UCLan Teacher Education Partnership offers you the exciting opportunity to study at one of a range of Colleges across the North West region.
You will learn about teaching and learning strategies, with a focus on developing your practical and academic skills through reflective practice. Your teaching placement is an essential feature of the programme and you will work closely with your course tutor and subject specialist mentor both of whom will observe you teaching and help you to develop your practice and skills.

An honours degree or equivalent. You must be qualified to teach in a subject that is part of the Further Education and Skills Sector or Sixth Form Curriculum. Therefore, if some/all of the teaching is to be undertaken in a subject different to your honours degree you will need a Level 3 (QCF) qualification in the subject you will be teaching.
