Course Summary

Study a degree accredited through The International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (ICE), Institute of Hospitality (IoH) and Tourism Management Institute (TMI). Choose to study a one-year traditional route or a 21-month extended route with a six-month integrated paid applied professional practice period - placements can be in the UK or internationally. Apply theory in real-world contexts through placements in the UK, Dubai, USA, Japan, and more. Gain UN-recognised Carbon Literacy Certification included in your fees. You'll be taught by an interdisciplinary team of internationally recognised, research-active lecturers with strong industry connections. Benefit from an individual industry mentor during your studies. The MSc International Hospitality and Tourism Management provides you with knowledge of how to manage organisations in international sectors, underpinned by a balanced understanding of the hospitality and tourism industries. You will graduate with the knowledge, understanding and experience to take up managerial roles within the hospitality or tourism sectors. You’ll have the chance to enhance these skills before you graduate with an optional work placement in the UK or abroad, allowing you to put theory into practice in an industry setting. Sustainability is at the heart of our degree - you’ll develop a deeper understanding of the sustainable development goals, and the role tourism and hospitality play in influencing visitors' and guests' behaviours. You’ll explore how this can be utilised for social, cultural, and economic benefits for local communities, and how we can reduce negative environmental impacts at local, national, and international levels. You’ll also explore how sustainable digital technologies are used to build resilient infrastructures and global supply chains, foster innovation, and support the development of destinations both locally and internationally.
