Course Summary

The School of Computing Sciences provides a vibrant research environment that allows you to carry out cutting edge research projects supervised by some of the world leaders in their respective fields. Depending on your interests and project, your supervisory team may also include colleagues from across the Norwich Research Park as well as from industry (e.g. the EPSRC funded Agri-Forwards CDT and the NERC funded ARIES DTP), thereby allowing you to gain experience working with colleagues outside your area of expertise. The School’s research themes include: • Colour and imaging lab • Computational biology and bioinformatics • Cyber security • Data analytics for improved decision making • Data mining and knowledge discovery • Interactive graphics and audio • Internet of things and edge computing • Machine learning, statistics and data science • Telecommunications and connected society The School’s research themes webpages also provide you with details about the members of the School who are working within a theme. This is important since, as part of your application, you will need to nominate a member of the School as your primary supervisor. Once you have identified a potential primary supervisor you should make contact with them to discuss specific projects they are offering. To help you prepare your application don’t forget to ask them for an outline research proposal as that needs to be included in your application.
