This course is designed for, research-led university and are committed to making a substantial impact on the global challenges facing society. Our postgraduate researchers have opportunities to work at the heart of active research teams, challenging boundaries and making real advances. The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is comprised of two schools: Norwich Medical School and the School of Health Sciences. For our research, we combine expertise from both schools and across the wider university to provide ground-breaking research opportunities and innovation. The research portfolio for the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences is divided into three interlinked research areas: Metabolic Health encompasses research in cardiovascular, cancer, musculoskeletal, gastroenterology and microbiology. Lifespan Heath includes Health and Care Innovation (behavioural change, later life, rehabilitation, sleep, neurodegeneration), Mental Health, Nutrition, and the Norwich Institute for Health Ageing Population Health includes Epidemiology (Norwich Epidemiology Centre), Health Economics, Statistics, and the Norwich Clinical Trials Unit. Our diverse research programme includes links with our partners across the Norwich Research Park (Quadram Institute, John Innes Centre, Earlham Institute, and the Sainsbury Laboratory), our NHS trust partners (Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn, James Paget University Hospital, Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, and Norwich Community Health & Care) and the NHS Integrated Care Board - ICB (Norfolk & Waveney, and Suffolk and Northeast Essex).
