This is a design-based career conversion/ development course at Masters level, for anyone who has a passion for landscape architecture, but a first degree in any other subject. It brings together 'conversion' modules of the postgraduate diploma, with modules from the MA taken by those holding an undergraduate landscape degree, combined into a 'straight through' programme for direct entry to the UK profession at Licentiate status. UEL's professional landscape architecture programmes build your skills for a future career in landscape architecture in the context of key issues in contemporary life - city expansion, climate emergency, food security, diversity, inequality, and well-being. We challenge you to consider your understanding of what landscape is about, and what it can and should do.You'll learn through design studio, site visits, and by interaction with professionals and academics across spatial and environmental disciplines, as well as getting hands-on, with the practicalities of building now, for existing needs with real clients and communities.At UEL your interests and passions count. We engage with live sites and clients and foster connections with visiting professionals. Apply contemporary themes and their critique in complex landscapes at a range of scales including regional scale green infrastructure.
The aim of this module are: to resolve application of contemporary themes and their critique in complex landscapes and integrate them with aspects of professional practice and theoretical frameworks, through completion of a major design project, working at a variety of scales through to detailed design.
