Course Summary

This MSc in Clinical Exercise Physiology provides students the opportunity to implement evidence-based practice in the support of people living with long-term health conditions. Clinical exercise physiologists specialise in health and fitness screening and assessment, exercise prescription and delivery, and the implementation of behaviour change strategies for the prevention, treatment and management of health conditions.You will learn how to screen and assess individuals across a spectrum of health and disease, and how to use clinical and scientific reasoning to optimise the delivery of safe and effective exercise-based interventions.You will gain extensive practical experience in key physiological laboratory tests such as ECG, cardiopulmonary testing, spirometry and postural balance evaluation.We are investing in key areas beyond your studies including our career services, library and well-being, to be available both face-to-face on campus and online with many of these available 24/7. We have new, modern library facilities on both campuses offering inspirational environments for study and research. Modules

This module will further develop knowledge on the pathophysiological processes of non-communicable diseases and their responses to both acute and chronic exercise. You will also develop knowledge of how advancements in assessment tools and research illuminate understanding of exercise physiology.

2:1 honours degree in Physiology, Biochemistry, Sports Science, Applied Biology, Physiotherapy or other health related subjects.
