Course Summary

Our MSc Oil and Gas Management is ideal for people with no prior experience in energy management, as well as those already working in the industry. You don't need any prior education experience in the subject either, as our course provides a comprehensive overview of the entire 'value chain'. We teach you about energy production, infrastructure, and use, so you’ll be equipped to work in senior roles in any area of hydrocarbon energy management.This course combines specialist insight into the oil and gas industry with broader training in business management.You'll be taught how to harness your entrepreneurial spirit by developing new products and businesses how to manage risk and finance in the context of international markets and how to overcome common problems that business owners and managers face.You'll be taught through a mixture of lectures and seminars delivered by both academics and industry experts. You will have plenty of contact with our academic staff and, as in the real world of business, teamwork is a vital component of this course so you will be expected to work closely with your fellow students.This programme has been specifically designed to give you the skills, knowledge, and connections to work in senior positions throughout the oil and gas industry, as well as in other energy-related positions, nationally and internationally.As well as working directly in management positions in the industry, you'll also be equipped to work in related areas like strategic consulting, analytics, research, teaching, and more.

Modules

The aim of this module is to enable you to conduct a live applied business project. This could include a work-based project, report on internship or placement (paid or unpaid), business simulation, Bloomberg project, project management report, or case study.
