This Masters in Advanced Statistics will provide you with knowledge and experience of the principles, theory and practical skills of statistics.

Modules

This course gives students the experience of analysing data in a wide variety of contexts, using the R computer package, develops written and verbal communication skills, and provides an opportunity for students to carry out a short data-sourcing and analysis project. The practical, lab-based course delivers experience in key skills needed by the professional statistician.

Entry requirements

A first degree equivalent to a UK Upper Second Class Honours degree with: a substantial Mathematics component (at least equivalent to Level-1 courses in Mathematics and Level-2 courses in Calculus and Linear Algebra at the University of Glasgow); a substantial component of Statistics methodology, including at least Honours-level courses in probability theory, likelihood-based inference and the theory of linear models.
