This flagship two-year Global MBA offers you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of business, engaging with some of the most contemporary challenges faced by global business leaders.Supported by our Global Leadership Development Programme and 12 month industry placement, you will be offered the opportunity to develop the most in-demand skills needed to confront the challenges and unlock the opportunities of a dynamic and unpredictable economic environment. You’ll also explore significant issues including business resilience and crisis management as a key part of the course.The Healthcare Leadership and Management specialism aims to support both clinical and healthcare management professionals across the healthcare sector, to develop both their general leadership capabilities and their sector-specific understanding.This applied MBA will provide you with the knowledge foundations of business before offering the unique opportunity to specialise in your chosen industrial field, allowing the flexibility to shape your study based on your career aspirations. It is designed to develop creative, flexible and aspirational leaders of industry.You will be immersed in fundamental business principles. These core foundations of business integrate cross-cutting themes relating to the global challenges shaping today’s business environment, including technological change, the global political and economic context, social and demographic change and environmental crisis.

Academic, Personal and Professional Development (BM7206)

This module has been designed to meet the needs of business professionals enabling them to thrive in the fast-moving world of global business. Students will recognise and develop the academic, personal and professional skills, competencies and behaviours required to thrive in a global business environment creating and attending to their own development plan.

Business Finance and Decision Making (BM7203)

The module aims to provide students with an applied understanding of business decision making by focusing on behavioural and management science approaches. It utilises these two approaches to evaluate the reality of practical decision making. Emphasis will be on application of various statistical methods to finance data for decision making.

Business Project (BM7207)

The purpose of this module is to allow the student to carry out a self-managed piece of work that integrates the knowledge and skills acquired during the previous study within an employability and career development focused framework. ?It provides students with an opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills to the development of a new venture taking students on an entrepreneurial journey from ideation through to new venture creation or to the analysis and resolution of the kinds of business and management problems that are encountered in developing a viable business project.

Crisis Communication and Information Exchange in a Global Context (BM7215)

This module critically explores principles and practice of crisis communication and information exchange in relation to diverse organisational crises and disasters, including acute incidents and sustained crises. Students will develop an advanced understanding of organisational preparedness and information exchange modelling for crisis communication at a local, national and global scale. Emphasis is placed on developing advanced professional skills in relation to the planning, management and implementation of a complex crisis communication plan and information exchange mechanisms that involve a high level of multi-agency and stakeholder integration in response to highly contextualised emergencies, large-scale disasters and crises. Students will engage in a series of seminars and workshops designed to critically review contemporary and innovative approaches towards crisis communication and information exchange. Areas of focus will include organisational crisis preparedness, information exchange modelling, the development of communication protocols, internal and external crisis communication, emergency response, organisational leadership, reputation management and knowledge exchange for organisational and network learning.

Managing Business Continuinity in a Global Context (BM7219)

This module critically explores principles and practice of business continuity planning in a global context and in relation to diverse crises and disaster risks. Students will develop an advanced understanding of business continuity planning for organisations and organisational networks at a local, national and global scale. Emphasis is placed on developing advanced professional skills in relation to the planning, management and implementation of complex business continuity projects that involve a high level of multi-agency and stakeholder integration in response to highly contextualised emergencies, large-scale disasters and crises. Students will engage in a series of seminars and workshops designed to critically review contemporary and innovative approaches towards organisational risk and crisis management. Areas of focus will include organisational resilience, disaster risk reduction, business continuity planning, crisis management, leadership and continuous learning.

Managing Complex Projects (BM7205)

Project management is key to delivering strategic value within an organisation and it involves time planning, controlling costs, time and quality which are predetermined and defined. Included are also budgetary constraints, risk and the management of stakeholder interests. Projects can range from construction of a new building to the launch of new product, or outsourcing previous in-house functions, to the re-engineering of products, services and processes.
