Modules

This module aims to build on the knowledge acquired in students? engineering degree to further develop a deeper understanding of the relationship between design, development and characterisation of Advanced Engineering Modelling and Analysis. This module develops the understanding of the fundamental role of simulation and modelling in engineering design and research, and the theory and practice of numerical methods, modelling techniques and the typical steps involved in model generation using software such as Matlab, ANSYS and SolidWorks. This module teaches and assesses (SM7M, SM1fl), (EA6M, EA1fl), (D9M, D1fl), (EL11M, ET4fl), (P12M, EP1fl) requirements for CEng.

Normally, you should have at least a lower second class honours degree (2.2) in a relevant subject; for instance, a BSc (Hons) or BEng (Hons) in Engineering or Physics. If you have alternative equivalent qualifications and relevant work experience, then well be happy to consider your application and may invite you for an interview or request a portfolio of work.
