Corporate Communications critically engages with the role and management of communications and public relations in medium to large organisations. The module analyses how communications influences and is influenced by corporate strategy and the different stakeholders engaged by the organisation. The module critically evaluates the role of corporate reputation and also managing communications during a crisis event.
This module aims to provide students a practical grounding in the skills and techniques necessary to make sound marketing decisions through data analysis. The module will introduce and practice various forms of data and analytics tools available to modern marketers for business decisions.
To provide students with a critical insight and applied understanding of the tools of digital marketing. They will analyse critically the paradigm of relationship marketing and its role in digital strategies in order to develop a critical understanding of the theories, models and concepts pertaining to digital marketing and to apply these in a strategic integrated context. The Module aims to provide students with the skills necessary to develop appropriate strategic plans using these theoretical constructs and to evaluate their effectiveness in the development of appropriate communications plans and to understand the process of integration of the tools of digital marketing within the marketing mix.
The aim of this Module is to allow students to develop a conceptual framework within which contemporary global marketing operates. Students will be able to broaden their critical understanding of the current dynamic environment and cultural influences of international/global trade. The students will have the opportunity to evaluate the various competitive strategies for global markets, to develop an appropriate marketing mix for a foreign market taking into consideration a given context and to appreciate the role that sustainability plays nowadays in the designing and implementation on global marketing strategies.
Understanding consumer is a key requirement for effective marketing management today. The aim of the Module is to understand the psychological, social, and cultural factors that influence consumer behaviour, and to understand how characteristics of consumers can be identified and measured to help for business success. In addition the Module will take a critical approach to consumer behaviour theories in order to explore both practical and ethical implications of applying them in practice.
This Module aims to serve two functions; firstly to support students to develop their skills in a range of research methods that will enhance their ability to gather and analyse information as part of their academic study or in their careers as managers. Secondly, the assessment for this Module requires students to produce a research proposal that, for Master?s students, will become the basis of their final dissertation. This Module aims to cover key areas of qualitative and quantitative approaches to research. The Module aims to provide students the opportunity to discuss research issues with research-active staff from the department.
The aim of the module is to allow students to develop an understanding of the role of marketing within an organisation both at a functional and strategic level. Students will be able to appreciate the tools, concepts and models used in undertaking a marketing audit and to enable them to evaluate the marketplace potential and risk from the perspective of the company's unique selling proposition (USP). The students will have the opportunity to implement the concepts with the use of a simulation game.
Research project aims to enable students to: complete a substantial and integrated piece of written work (about 10,000 words), that is argued and verified on the basis of relevant theories and evidence and incorporates the key elements of a research project study independently and take responsibility for going through the successive steps of the research process, with a view to meet a deadline; apply theoretical perspectives to a real-world economic, business, marketing or finance question; gain in-depth knowledge of the economics, business, marketing or finance literature in the area chosen; identify, locate, retrieve and interpret appropriate data and evidence; draw conclusions (and if applicable, recommendations) from evidence.
