Course Summary

A full understanding of supply chain management and logistics is increasingly important in business and management. This MA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management explores supply chain networks in global and domestic contexts and prepares you to address issues such as cost reduction and service enhancement. Areas of study will include the functions of procurement, production, distribution and customer service, alongside a diverse range of designs and structures. You will have the opportunity to visit industrial locations, attend seminars from industry guest speakers, and collaborate with business partners for a dissertation. In the final stage of this course, you will undertake a two-week consultancy project with selected companies.

Graduates can pursue careers in service and manufacturing sectors, purchasing, logistics and supply chain management for services and manufacturing in the private, public and voluntary sectors, and consultancy.

Modules

This course is intended to apply the practical skills and knowledge of research techniques that have been established in the Research Methods course. In managing a small-scale research project, students are expected to develop their understanding of the relationship between theory and practice and extend their capacity for analysis and logical inference.

You should have an undergraduate degree in a relevant subject at 2.2 or above, or equivalent qualification, from a recognised university or higher education institute. Applicants with relevant professional experience and CILT or CIPS qualifications are also encouraged to apply.
