About the course
This short course is aimed at individuals currently working in public health roles or those who have an interest in global public health work. It provides you with an opportunity to expand your knowledge to encompass a consideration of wider global issues. It will provide you with an opportunity to reflect on and debate key global public health issues.
You will address the ways in which the contemporary processes of globalisation impact upon public health policy.
An exploration of key global health organisations such as, Government, Non-Government, the World Health Organisation and the United Nations will be used to illustrate how health inequity, social justice and the social determinants of health impact different populations at a global level.
You will study alongside a diverse range of students from both clinical and non-clinical backgrounds from the UK and overseas, bringing a richness to the course which will enhance your learning.
You will be taught by a team of passionate academics who have a wealth of skills, expertise and professional credibility related to contemporary public health both in the UK and overseas.
Teaching and assessment:
Teaching is delivered through a range of teaching methods including lectures, tutorial supervision and guided independent study. Assessment will involve written course work.

Career support
This short course will assist you to meet the specialist skills, knowledge and understanding of the role of global public health and to meet the requirements stipulated by your employer/professional regulator.
The tuition fees for 2021/22 entry is £660 (Band 2) per 15 credit module and £1,320 (Band 2) per 30 credit module. There may be slight increase in 2022/23 courses.

Entry requirements An honours degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent in a subject relevant to public health, such as health professional qualifications, social science subjects, applied sciences, business, leadership, management or administration.
