Using the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards for learning and assessment, you’ll gain the skills and knowledge to teach, mentor and assess other like-minded professionals from a range of healthcare backgrounds.Plus, our programme will help develop your own leadership skills – and can be the first step towards a PGDip or MSc in Health Studies if you wish to continue studying.Our programme offers a blended approach towards study, with your time spent either learning online or in our award-winning health facilities on campus.Learning methods include workshops, discussions, group work and lead lectures – enabling you to play an active part in your learning. Plus, you’ll be further supported by our virtual learning environment.Our core modules will give you a solid foundation in all aspects of the role including practice; establishing effective working relationships; evidence-based practice; leadership; creating an environment for learning; facilitation of learning; assessment and accountability and evaluation of learning.You’ll also have the opportunity to explore an educational issue within your own sphere of practice as part of a work-based module.Students on this course will usually have prior experience as a mentor or assessor, as well as evidence of academic study within the past five years. However, all applications will be considered on individual merit.
