Research
The Hull University Business School provides an inspirational environment for researchers in the early stages of their careers. We offer PhD research degrees in the following research groups: Accounting; Economics; Finance; Logistics; Marketing; Regional and International Business; Leadership and Organisational Change; The Centre for Systems Studies; and Organisation, Ethics and Society.
Our PhD is a four year full-time degree which requires a student to complete the equivalent of 540 credits worth of research, including both research specialist modules and research thesis preparation. PhD students have the opportunity to add to the sum of knowledge in their chosen field by producing an original piece of research. They are closely supported and given opportunities to travel and attend conferences.
On campus facilities for research students are excellent. The business school has a dedicated work room with cutting-edge facilities. PhD students have exclusive access to the Postgraduate Lounge in the newly refurbished Brynmor Jones Library, while all our postgraduate students can make us of facilities in the University's Doctoral College. HUBS subscribes to a full range of professional business information services including Reuters Datastream, Reuters Thomson One, Bloomberg, Bankscope and FAME.
