Overview

A Human Resource Management (HRM) department is committed to enabling staff members to do more, maintain their wellbeing, and grow professionally as part of the business.

The CIPD-accredited MSc Human Resource Management with Industrial Placement course is delivered by published academics and co-developed by industry leaders and will kickstart your career by exploring HR Management practices such as employee relations, employee resourcing, HRM development, HR data and performance management alongside the theory of general management and leadership.

Taking a 12-month industrial placement allows you to gain work experience in the UK or overseas as part of your Master's. While the placements are self-sought, the School offers support through extra-curricular engagement with our dedicated placements team. Opting for this course with a placement takes the length of your course to up to two years.

Modules

This module aims to provide an understanding of the importance of HR analytics in practice. It will also ensure that students have hand-on experience to apply current quantitative techniques and tools to a variety of problems encountered in HR. Special emphasis will be given to the analysis of diversity within companies and how HR analytics can contribute to a better understanding on how this relates to performance, retention and the wider organisational climate.

A minimum of a second-class UK degree, or an equivalent internationally recognised qualification in a variety of subject areas is accepted, but we encourage particularly applicants from the social sciences and humanities. All applicants are considered on an individual basis and additional qualifications, professional qualifications and relevant experience may also be taken into account when considering applications.
