Cybercrime is a relatively new and growing area for both civil and criminal investigation. Our MSc in Cybercrime Investigation has been developed by law enforcement practitioners to enhance knowledge and practical skills in the areas of behavioural psychology, criminal investigation and the technical aspects of obtaining computer-based evidence. Aimed at personal professional development for current investigators in the criminal and private sector and as a natural progression for graduates in Computer Forensics, Psychology or Policing. Modules include Research Skills, Behavioural Dynamics of Cybercrime, Digital Forensic Technology, Open Source Internet Investigation, Policing of  cybercrime, and a research project for your dissertation. A range of potential careers are available to those studying MSc Cybercrime including working in the fields of Policing, Civil investigation, the military, and National Crime Agency.

Modules

The module is designed for you to understand the nature of the scientific method and the techniques in social science research as applied to the collection analysis and interpretation of social and management data. Your project will develop as the module progresses and you will use relevant information from the module to justify the methodology of your case study.
