To complete a postgraduate research programme, you’ll need to be dedicated and passionate about your area of study. But it’ll be well worth it. Being a doctoral student is challenging, yet incredibly rewarding. You are expected to carry out a programme of research in a particular area under the supervision of a primary supervisor and one or more co-supervisors. This is conducted through a portfolio of manufacturing process research that is based around the exploration and development of novel apparatus and instrumentation for computer-controlled fabrication and production. The strategy to deliver this is centred in our body of work in Hybrid Manufacturing Processes. This concerns digitally-driven template-less manufacturing processes which are based on integrated cross-technology platforms and/or multi-system cells.
