You'll have regular meetings to monitor your progress and develop an initial training plan to make sure you are acquiring the appropriate skills for your research.Chinese Studies has a rich heritage of pioneering research which can be traced back to 1963 and the introduction of Chinese Studies at University of Leeds under the influential scholar, Professor Owen Lattimore. Chinese Studies at Leeds continues to be seen as one of the most respected centres of research on China in the world. Since our inception Chinese language has been core to our research with language taught together with the social sciences and other disciplines. Over the years, under successive enthusiastic and experienced leadership our vibrant, multi-disciplinary research community has grown considerably but language-based, contextually-informed research has always remained at the core of what we do.
