Course info

This research involves investigation into the use of spaced repetition within physics higher education. In higher education, long-term memory is needed for students to have a sound platform of understanding on which to build new advanced knowledge and to apply when solving problems. Research shows that long-term memory can be developed by repeated testing during the learning phase, known as spaced repetition. However, students still retain a strong tendency to ‘cram for exams’ as this technique has served them well through their education, providing a short-term reward. Studying your PhD with us means you’ll be working in a professional research environment, using UK-leading facilities to bring your project to life – alongside active researchers who are at the forefront of their area.
