The aim of our MPhil/ PhD / PhD by Published Works programme is to equip the next generation of researchers. You will deliver a high-quality piece of independent research that contributes to our existing knowledge which may go on to inform healthcare policy and influence the practice and organisation of care providers. We host many postgraduate research students. They use a range of research methods and approaches within a range of health contexts both within the UK and elsewhere. You will be awarded a Level 8 qualification, which is the highest formal certification you may obtain in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland, after successful defence of your final thesis. This will offer you with an excellent opportunity for career progression in a range of fields.Course DetailsIn this subject area, we particularly welcome applicants who wish to focus their research on the following:Nursing and allied health professionsPublic Health and health educationWellbeing and mental healthYou can refine your technical abilities and develop your area of expertise through research degrees. You can specialise in a specific area of interest within your field thanks to them, allowing for in-depth investigation and comprehension. Candidates for research degrees perform unique research and studies that advance our body of knowledge. You will get general, discipline-based, and project-specific training while creating and setting up research projects so that you may perform your research work successfully and independently in the future. We encourage you to create connections with reputable academics, researchers, and industry experts. Conferences, seminars, and workshops provide opportunities to meet like-minded people, possible partners, and potential mentors.A supervisory staff chosen for their knowledge and experience aids all students. To the extent feasible, your team will be active in your growth from the time you are hired until the time you graduate, offering you stability and consistency as your research advances. You may access the postgraduate research hot desk offices at our Waterside campus while you’re there, along with a wide range of library resources.
