Social Work – Practice Educator Professional Standards Stage 2 offers professional development opportunities for suitably qualified Social Workers to become competent in supporting the development of student Social Workers whilst on 100-day practice placement, through supervision, assessment and critical analysis of student practice.This Stage 2 module will further develop Practice Educator abilities, on completion, they will be able to work with students at all levels including the final placement (100-day practice placement experience).Course DetailsSocial Work – Practice Educator Professional Standards Stage 2 engages students in the principles and concepts of the enabling of learning of others in services with children, young people, families and carers.The fundamental underpinning principle of the Stage 2 module is a commitment to continuing professional development (CPD) that is to further professional personal knowledge and competence and enable that of others:Facilitation of current theories and models of Social Work practice.Utilisation of models of facilitating learning including mentoring, coaching, management and supervision.Ensuring management of time, resources and deadlines.Report writing, observation and assessment skills.Exhibiting enhanced competence in professional practice appropriate to engaging in developing student abilities.Critically reflect upon the assessment process, considering issues of power, oppression and disagreement and how these have influenced your own learning and development.Critically reflect upon your own development as a practice educator and demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of the application of learning and the transfer of skills, knowledge and values to new situations as a practice educator.
