Research overview
We have an international reputation for work in the areas of animal reproduction, development and production. Our research in the area of animal production covers major livestock species with focus on the biological basis of feed efficiency and sustainability in ruminant and non-ruminant systems.
We have expertise in dairy science with focus on nutritional strategies for enhancing animal health. Our expertise is being applied to the need for novel and sustainable approaches to increase food production.
Work is carried out mostly on domestic species, although occasionally wild populations are studied, and findings are related to human and animal medicine.
