Research overview

Our PhD gives you the time and support to explore your theological interests while maintaining your existing commitments.

We have particular strengths in: Theology and Philosophy; Religion, Culture, and Ethics; Science, Technology, and Nature; Biblical Studies; Jewish Studies; Islamic Studies.

Our staff include theologians, sociologists, biblical scholars and philosophers so we can support your research with a range of different approaches and methodologies.

Supervision is provided by research-active staff. With over 10 years experience in running distance learning degrees the department will provide the support you need.

You’ll be joining a diverse community whose current research projects include: Hebrew Bible and New Testament; Hermeneutics; Islam and Politics; Jewish Philosophy.

Graduate destinations
