Course info

Undertake independent, original research in English Literature, supported by academics working at the leading edge of the field. Work with researchers at the Centre for Studies in Literature with expertise in early modern writing, Victorian literature and culture, and twentieth- and twenty-first-century British and American literature. Explore how different texts can shed new light on issues such as corruption, war and justice, and how literature can influence cultures, communities and public opinion. Investigate how writing can empower unrepresented and marginalised voices — and how it can also be used to repress and control. Join an internationally recognised research environment, with 100% of research rated outstanding or very considerable impact (REF 2021).
