Research activity in the School is broad and extensive, with regular seminar programmes taking place in all research areas. Our School has expertise in cognitive neuroscience, psychopathology, personalised nutrition and language sciences.

Collaborations and funding

We have active collaborations with other departments and research centres within the University as well as with external institutions. We receive funding from the Economic and Social Research Council, Medical Research Council, and the wider University, and have a strong track record of securing funding from other public and private sector sources. We also offer a cotutelle PhD, where you study jointly at two different institutions, with our partner institution Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.

If you undertake your PhD with us, you’ll join an active community of PhD students in our School who are making a real impact with their research. You’ll also become part of a large, diverse community of doctoral students across the University.
