Course Summary

Neuroscience extends from development of the nervous system and neuronal cell biology, through to sensory neurophysiology and computational modelling. We have internationally recognised strengths in sensory neuroscience of auditory, visual and olfactory systems. The Hearing Research Group at the University of Sheffield brings together internationally leading experts in in vitro and in vivo physiology, stem cell biology, bioinformatics and mouse and human genetics. We also have a growing interest in understanding the sensing and alleviation of chronic pain and in developing effective model systems for gaining insight into complex behavioural disorders such as stress and anxiety.
