Course Summary

The online Postgraduate Diploma in Gastroenterology, run in partnership with Diploma MSc, has been designed to help physicians further their knowledge of gastroenterology and improve their clinical judgement. This theoretical online course is designed to facilitate a better understanding of common gastroenterology disorders typically found in the community and enable students to upskill in diagnostic and management of gastroenterological disorders. What's more, students will be better equipped to read and interpret endoscopy reports, an increasingly important element of practice.

This online diploma does not assess or develop endoscopic procedures (as this would require residential training and supervision) but is designed to improve knowledge, which is an essential complement to clinical practice. With increasing competition for employment in the healthcare arena, and increasing specialisation, the purpose of the gastroenterology course is to promote and enhance professional skills and knowledge that have a direct relevance and application to the demands of working roles. Students also have the option to progress on to the MSc Gastroenterology.
