Enhance your practice at a global top 100 university. As a University of Southampton student with a PG Dip in Nursing, you can to return to ‘top-up’ the diploma to an MSc. The Master of Science Top-up Award aims to enhance your knowledge base and skills to become a critically aware practitioner able to appraise and, if necessary, challenge practice. You'll be enabled to effectively use a philosophy of care that is based on evidence, to develop and lead service provision that meets the needs of a 21st century health and social care service. You'll graduate primed to take the next step in your career. This is a part time programme that commences each September. You'll be assessed on your research proposal and your dissertation.

Modules

This module will provide you with the opportunity to plan, undertake and report on an independent, original project which is relevant to your current or future area of practice and is appropriate to the Award you are following. This version of the Dissertation module enables part-time Master's students to plan, undertake and complete a project in 18 months. The module will commence in October of year one and you will submit during March of year three, for example October 2020 to March 2022.

Entry requirements

Students will need to have passed your PG Diploma at the University of Southampton, register for this master’s within 3 years of completing your PG Diploma in Nursing, or within 4 year of completing your Public Health Practice: Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN).
