Youll need a 2:2 degree (UK honours degree or equivalent) or above, GCSEs (minimum grade 4/C) in English language, maths and science, the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and spoken English, and basic numeracy and ICT skills; if you don't have the required GCSEs, we'll ask you at the offer stage to take equivalency tests at your own expense. You dont need classroom experience before starting the course, but we recommend arranging time in a school to improve your understanding of the role of a classroom teacher. To follow the Maths specialism route, youll need GCSE Maths at grade 6/B (or equivalent) as a minimum, and an A or AS level (or equivalent) would be desirable; well also consider mathematical elements of your degree or significant work experience involving mathematics.
