Our Sustainable Development MSc degree offers a comprehensive exploration of the principles, policies, and practices needed to address the complex challenges of sustainability. Graduates of this course are prepared to address the strategic challenges confronting businesses, individuals, and governments, and to enact the necessary changes to safeguard our planet. Our MSc provides you with the knowledge to help organisations move towards a greener future. It examines the societal transformations required to tackle the climate emergency, protect the environment, and shift towards sustainable consumption and production – as outlined by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.This course is run by our Centre for Environment and Sustainability (CES) and the Institute for Sustainability, and in partnership with the new Surrey CIFAL – a United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) training centre recently established at the University of Surrey.Sustainable development graduates are equipped to tackle the strategic challenges being faced by companies, individuals and governments, and implement the changes required to protect our planet.You'll also have the opportunity to undertake a postgraduate placement year, allowing you to gain crucial workplace experience.
