Course info

The UWS Events and Tourism has been working with local, national, and international partners in industry, public sector, and academia, producing internationally relevant research. Recent publications and projects have focused on sustainable tourism, regenerative tourism, tourism degrowth, critical events studies, place based community events, and EDI initiatives within events. We engage with policy makers including VisitScotland and work with global events teams such as Fifa World Cup, Commonwealth Games and UCI World Cycling Championships. Delivering impactful research is our main ethos and as an Events and Tourism researcher with us, you will join an active, internationally diverse team conducting applied research, aiming to advance knowledge and influence policy and practice in the events, tourism and hospitality sectors.
