UWTSD has a long history in automotive engineering, being one of the first universities in the UK to offer a degree in the subject back in the 1990s. Over the years, the university has built an excellent reputation in the automotive industry for producing skilled graduates. Many of our students have gone on to work with leading companies such as McLaren Automotive, Jaguar Land Rover, Ford, Honda R&D, Ricardo, and MAHLE. Studying for a master’s degree in automotive engineering at UWTSD gives you the chance to gain in-depth knowledge and skills in the design, development, engineering, manufacturing, and optimisation of vehicles. You will explore areas like vehicle design, vehicle safety, and the growing fields of electrification and autonomous vehicles, both of which are shaping the future of the industry. This degree allows you to engage with the most up-to-date trends and technology, making your knowledge highly relevant in today’s competitive job market. The course offers a strong balance of theoretical and practical learning. You will take part in hands-on projects and automotive-specific project opportunities that directly reflect real-world challenges. Alongside this, you will complete automotive-specific assignment work, allowing you to deepen your understanding in areas that are important to your career goals. The course structure also includes a wide range of modules on automotive-related subjects, which you can tailor to suit your own interests and aspirations.
