The Motorcycle Engineering Degrees at UWTSD Swansea started in October 2003 and have developed to support the growing interest in the motorcycle racing and mainstream road riding sector.
Studying a Masters in the field of Motorcycle Engineering will enable you to develop the specific expertise required in the design, development and sophistication of the modern and competition motorcycle.
The course has a good mix of theoretical and practical taught elements as well as excellent motorcycle specific project opportunities, motorcycle specific assignment work and modules that provide a wide range of motorcycle related subjects while still enabling the student to tailor their study to their own needs and career aspirations.
What you will learn
As a natural development of the success of the Motorcycle Engineering undergraduate programme, the latest Masters programme aims to develop your understanding further, based upon the strong links between the University and the Industry.
The Motorcycle degree scheme allows the student the opportunity to experience the world of motorcycle engineering and world class motorcycle racing first hand.
Now the only MEng & BEng degree programme in Europe, and possibly the only scheme in the world specialising in Motorcycle Engineering, with members of staff who also work within the highest level of the industry in the world, giving the programme an insight into the highest level of competition motorcycle sport.
Students have gained employment with motorcycle specific companies such as Kalex, FTR, Yamaha WSB, Norton, Triumph and many other high class engineering roles, but also with automotive biased companies such as McLaren, Ricardo, Mahle, JLR and many others.
Career Opportunities
The graduates from the motorcycle engineering pathways at UWTSD have gained employment in a wide range of engineering disciplines both inside and outside of the Motorcycle Engineering Industry.
Students have gained employment with motorcycle specific companies such as Suzuki MotoGP, KTM MotoGP and Moto2, a number of Moto2 teams, Kalex, FTR, Yamaha WSB, Norton, Triumph and many other high-class engineering roles.
