The Psychology MRes enables you to develop cutting-edge research skills via specialist learning, teaching and independent research under the supervision of a research-active academic. You will study a range of state-of-the-art methodologies, including: open-science and replication big data and meta-science participatory methods. You will also develop skills in: open-source coding responsible and critical artificial intelligence usage autoethnography and narrative analyses research granting and dissemination. This MRes Psychology provides firsthand experience of conducting real-world research that is original, rigorous, and significant with the potential to impact the world for the better. A Master of Research (MRes) is different from usual postgraduate Masters degrees because it focuses more heavily on a larger independent research project (under the oversight of an academic supervisor). This MRes course is structured in a module format, with two taught research training modules (Methods and Measurement in the Social Sciences; & Data Analysis, Replication and Dissemination) as well as the MRes Independent Project module, and the course involves completing structured assessments for each of these modules, so this is considered a postgraduate taught course, even with the heavier research focus.
