This is a dual accredited course, meaning with no additional assessments you’ll graduate with a MSc and a CMI qualification – the level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice. You'll also have access to CMI webinars, professional networks and their online resource portal. Designed specifically for existing and aspiring managers and leaders, our Healthcare Management and Leadership MSc supports students in developing the skills necessary to critically debate the challenges facing healthcare leaders, and the roles that clinicians, managers, and the wider healthcare economy can play in reshaping healthcare services.The programme offers learning opportunities delivered by experts from the Schools of Allied Health and Community, Worcester Business School and visiting guest speakers, bringing together key theories of leadership and management with specific relevance to health systems and social and community care provision.By providing a flexible, multidisciplinary approach within a supportive environment, our MSc enables professionals across the sector to learn with and from each other, develop professional networks, and advance their own practice in relation to effectively managing and leading people, processes, and practices within healthcare settings.There are full-time and part-time routes available to allow for study alongside work, with teaching hours generally concentrated into two-day blocks.
This module provides an opportunity for you to focus upon the conceptualisation of a significant piece of enquiry relating to healthcare management and leadership as a culmination of the masters programme.
On this module you'll explore key digital technologies and a data-driven approach to decision making. The legal and ethical challenges of digital transformation are also explored.
On this module, you'll explore key accounting practice and the associated decision-making tools within organisations. Using a range of business scenarios, we will apply relevant accounting techniques to critically evaluate and interpret the financial information at our disposal, before going on to consider the limitations of these techniques and the role of associated non-financial information.
Learn how to become a leader in healthcare, as you explore the complexities of human behaviour and workplace management. You'll learn how to navigate the broader strategic aims of workforce development and sustainability.
On this module, you'll develop critical and conceptual understanding of the global health landscape together with the processes of globalisation and global change. You will analyse the diverse drivers and contributors of health globally, with critical consideration of their profound impact on health systems. You'll engage in our problem-based learning approach that relates to a specific management and/or leadership area of practice.
This module facilitates your development of an applied understanding of quality improvement which will equip you for leading quality improvement in your future careers in healthcare leadership. You will design a practice-based quality improvement initiative and consider every stage of the quality improvement journey, including problem analysis, defining what a good service looks like, and sustainability of quality improvement.
This module provides a dynamic platform that encourages students to consider and reflect critically upon personal and professional growth. Encompassing leadership, personal effectiveness, people management, and teamwork, the module explores contemporary literature on leadership to ensure a comprehensive understanding.
